Vote for the Collegian Performance of the Week 5/17-5/22Published by Adam Schneider/Dyestatcollege.com/editor on May 23rd. 2016 Thomas Awad Penn ran against pros at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier meet and ran the second fastest collegiate time this year in 3:37.75. Kayelle Clark New Mexico JC - She dominated the 200m with a time of 23.16 and came back to run the third leg for New Mexico JC on the 4x400 relay They dominated with a time of 3:37.37 to win by more than 4 seconds and secure the second-place team trophy (they were tied with Central Arizona for second place going into the final event). Fabian Edoki South Plains - He won the NJCAA D1 Long Jump with a best of 25-11 1/2 and he was second in the triple jump with a best of 51-11 3/4. Eli Hall-Thompson Butler CC - He won the NJCAA D1 Outdoor Championships title in the 100m in 10.16 but lost a very fast 200m in 20.37. Gilbert Kigen Central Arizona - First he went out and won the 10,000m at the NJCAA D1 National Championships in 30:59.63 and then came back and won the 5,000m in a strategic 14:31.65. Sam Mattis Penn - Sam had his 6th meet with a throw over 200'. At the Augustana College Midwest Twilight Qualifier he threw that twice and his furthest landed at 205'5 Leanne Pompeani Iowa Western - She won the 10,000m (37:48.46) /5000m (17:09.03) double for the second time in her career as she dominated both races at the NJCAA D1 National Championships. Ruebin Walters Central Arizona - Ruebin won the 110m hurdles in 13.62 and he was second in the 400m hurdles in 50.68 at the NJCAA D1 championships. More news |
